Have You Heard About This Ancient Chinese Theory?

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art and science that was developed thousands of years ago, and was developed to create a harmonious environment. The literal translation of the term is:  Feng – meaning wind and Shui – meaning water. Wind and water in Chinese culture are associated with good health. Feng Shui’s purpose is to promote well being, good health and prosperity.

The philosophy of Feng Shui is living in harmony with nature. Which suggests that human beings are living in the best way they can for themselves, as well as the best way they can  for nature by following the laws of nature and using common sense.

WHY IS FENG SHUI BECOMING SO POPULAR IN THE WESTERN WORLD?

Because of the fast paced and turbulent life we lead, people  are looking for ways to add balance to their lives. Oftentimes when a person’s life feels out of balance, they look for outside help…If they aren’t feeling well they go to a medical doctor for help, if they feel in crisis they go to a therapist, or if they are having financial problems, they might go to a financial specialist.

Feng Shui, by using common sense, helps us look inward to solve our own challenges. Common sense being defined as combining our instinct with our experiences.

The principles of Feng Shui can be applied to all facets of our lives. It can be used when choosing a place to build your home, to picking colors for a room, choosing and arranging furniture or designing a garden. When used, it can do such things as improve relationships whether they are family or business, and can even increase a store’s sales.

Feng Shui isn’t magic or religious or voodoo. It is applying age old principles of living in harmony with nature and the natural way of things.

In our next article we will discuss the energies of Yin and Yang.
